Fixfest officially launches on Friday the 30th of September with a morning of talks from professional and community repairers, innovative tech start-ups and environmental NGOs about how EU policies can be instrumental in overcoming remaining barriers to repair. We will also dive into the environmental savings and socio-economic opportunities that transitioning out of the throw-away economy of electronics could bring to Europe.

This event is organised by the steering committee of the European Right to Repair campaign. It will be held at Maison des Associations Internationales (MAI) in Brussels and will also be streamed live online.

For more information and a full programme, visit the campaign’s website.

On Friday afternoon, join our protest to keep the pressure high and attract visibility to the right to repair movement. We want to send a clear message to EU policy-makers: EU citizens are fed-up of waiting for the right to repair their devices. We will gather on the Place René Cliquet, Bruxelles, 1050 BE. This is a busy commercial street that features several flagship shops of the throwaway economy. Before the event, from 14h00 to 15h30 participants will have the opportunity to join a cardboard workshop to create some impactful signs together.

To sign up for this stunt and for more information, visit the campaign’s website.

We’re planning a full day of sessions at Les Ateliers des Tanneurs, Brussels [link to map]. Doors open at 9am. Please aim to arrive between 9am and 9:30am. In the afternoon, there will be open ‘unconference’ slots available for anyone who would like to run their own short session.

09:00 - 09:30
09:30 - 10:00
17:30 - 19:30

Sunday will also feature more repair-focused sessions and lots more opportunities for you to run your own as part of the unconference. Doors will open at 9am. After lunch, we will run a Repair Café open to the public. Feel free to bring your broken devices or repair skills! All events on Sunday will happen at Les Ateliers des Tanneurs, Brussels [link to map].
