Teaching children science through repair

The session is a workshop as a part of our new start up, Team Repair that aims to inspire children from all backgrounds to get into science, tech and engineering, as well as repair and sustainability. We teach children (ages 8-12) science and technology concepts through the repairing of broken electronics. We have a selection of electronic gadgets (games consoles, walkie talkies, remote control cars) with faults which we have engineered in, with accompanying tutorials on how to fix them. By teaching children how to diagnose, repair and test these broken gadgets, we are also teaching them about key science concepts such as electricity and motors, and we seamlessly integrate these lessons into our workshops to make them fun and engaging!
