Here’s how you can run a session at Fixfest UK

Fixfest UK is a gathering for the whole UK repair community: repairers, community organisers, makers, activists, researchers, tinkerers, policy makers and more. We’re planning a day full of discussion, workshops, and more–both with you and by you. Between sessions there will be time to meet new people and form new connections.

As always, much of Fixfest UK will be an ‘unconference’, giving you the chance to shape the programme and run sessions you think are interesting. You will be able to sign up for one of these slots on the day. But if you would like to run a longer session that is included in the programme in advance, please complete the form below.

We want you to have fun and get creative with the Fixfest programme!

Don’t be afraid to put forward ideas that might seem niche, or discussion topics that are tricky. The whole point of an unconference is that it catches all the exciting things that can slip through the cracks of a regular conference programme. If you’ve got an idea but you’re not sure how to deliver it, don’t worry – we can help you.

Thank you for your interest in running a session at Fixfest UK 2023! If you would like to run a 45-minute session at Fixfest UK, please complete the form below and we’ll be in touch. If you’d like to run a shorter session or a 5 minute lightning talk, we will have a range of unconference slots available on the day. You will be able to put your name down for a slot when you arrive at Fixfest UK. In addition to speaking opportunities, we will also provide spaces to display posters, set up small stands and share printed materials.

Do you require special financial assistance to attend Fixfest?

We have an extremely limited number of bursaries available to enable people to travel to Cardiff for Fixfest UK. These are only available in exceptional cases. Alternatively, we can provide letters of support to assist with your own funding applications.
